The WIRED Lab, an Artist Run Initiative based in rural South West NSW, is holding an intensive masterclass for 12 artists and musicians from 26 – 28 October 2011, culminating in a public performance at the annual WIRED Open Day on Saturday 29 October 2011. During the three day masterclass participants will learn about the wire instruments and the interdisciplinary strategies that WIRED Lab core members Alan Lamb, David Burraston and Sarah Last employ to realise their compositions and associated projects. Masterclass participants will also be integral to realising a new composition by Lamb, Burraston and Last which will be premiered at Wired Open Day.
WIRED EARS (Emerging Artists Residency Scheme) will provide financial assistance for 12 participants to attend the masterclass. Artists who consider themselves to be ‘emerging’ are invited to submit a brief expression of interest (EOI) detailing their arts practice and how they feel they will benefit from being a WIRED EARS participant. Expressions of interest are due Friday 7 October 2011.
