The eGames Expo will return to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre - bigger and more diverse - with the addition of the Digital Lifestyle Show from November 14 to 16 in what is set to be the largest event of its kind to be held in Australia. The showcase, which is designed to provide visitors with a complete ‘hands on’ experience with anything and everything relating to electronic games and digital lifestyle, will form part of the International Digital Entertainment Festival (iDEF).

“Digital Entertainment is the frontier to a new method of delivering entertainment, holding no boundaries and limited only to the imagination of the talented people involved in this industry working to bring music, games, film, television, video and mobile content and more to a global, digitally connected, audience. The Digital Lifestyle Show and eGames Expo, as part of iDEF, will recognise and applaud this exciting and innovative industry. It will also allow our talented local industry to showcase itself to the global market, with all eyes on Melbourne during iDEF ’08.”

Over 16,000 attended the eGames Expo last year - and all the big names are back again for 2008 to present the newest games, latest products and all the excitement which makes this the biggest interactive event in Australia.

“We have extended the reach to a wider audience specifically to showcase the digital industry in its entirety and give Australians the opportunity to see, try and buy literally everything and anything that’s available today - and will be tomorrow - in the digital space,” he added.

On stage presentations and ‘hands-on’ experiences with leading brands at the Digital Lifestyle Show will showcase the latest products and provide visitors with the opportunity to gain an insight into the digital products and services that are either already, or are set to revolutionise our lives.

The eGames Expo will feature a series of video games play-offs, designed to give visitors the chance to get really ‘hands on’ with all the games on show. Eager games enthusiasts will also be able to enter in the chance to win some great prizes. Intel’s professional game players - Team Immunity - will be on hand to showcase the more serious side of game playing while giving visitors to the show the opportunity to play against some the best players in Australia.

A series of seminars and presentations will be held during both the Digital Lifestyle Show and eGames Expo, designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain an insight into the career choices that exist and the range of opportunities that the digital industry can provide.
