Jani Blums_
Jani (pronounced Yarni) is a self-taught combined-media artist based near Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Southeast Queensland. He has had a life-long love of photography that has been interrupted by a number of careers. However, now that he is semi-retired he indulges himself by creating combined-media art for his own pleasure (and the occasional commission) and if others like what he creates enough to pay for it, it's a lucky accident. His art goes beyond photography's traditional form towards innovative ways of using the medium and extending its vocabulary. Armed with his camera, scanner, tablet and computer he is able to combine a creative splash of photography with a dash of science and take a moment in time and lift it up out of the ordinary. Jani's art serves as an outlet for his thoughts and feelings. And the computer is the connecting glue that unites mind, eye and idea, and liberates the spirit from its limits making possible flights of pure inspiration.
