Carclew Youth Arts is calling for applications from South Australian based artists, aged 26 yrs and under, interested in working with Hiromi Tango.

Hiromi Tango is a Japanese born public installation artist who has spent the last 3 years occupying shop windows, perspex boxes, galleries, malls, train stations and other public spaces in locations throughout the Asia-Pacific and the United States.

Her public installations thrive on collaborations between herself and her audience, investigating how, by intervening into public space, the artist can generate unexpected moments of intimacy.

Hiromi Tango will be in Adelaide between April 6-17, 2010. Five South Australian artists will be chosen to work with Tango to create a 12-day public installation in the Adelaide Railway Station. Artists will be paid an honorarium of $1,000 in consideration of the time involved.

This opportunity would be suitable for artists working in diverse artforms including the visual arts, installation, design, public art, fashion, and ritual arts, aged 26 years old or under.
