Name change

ANAT’s Professional Development Travel Fund enables ANAT members the opportunity to realise their professional development ambitions, by providing support for travel to national and international events such as residencies, conferences, workshops and exhibitions.

Previously know as the ANAT Conference and Workshop Fund, the name change  better describes the fantastic potential of the fund to assist artists in accordance with ANAT’s mission of encouragement of creative research and development in art, science and technology.

About the Fund

The Professional Development Travel Fund is a quick response fund for Australian artists (resident in Australia) to attend national and international events. Funding is available for travel and registration fees and applicants must be members of ANAT. The closing date for each round is the last day of every month (except for December), with applicants notified by the 14th day of the next month. The event applied for must start no earlier than the 21st of the following month. E.g., applications received at June 30 must be for events commencing on July 21 or later.

To apply for a Professional Development Travel Fund grant, a person must be a ratified member of ANAT. Ratification will occur at the following ANAT Board meeting to be held after an application for membership has been submitted (check the 'ANAT Funding' section of the website for 2006 Board meeting dates). Thus, Professional Development Travel Fund applications must be submitted only when people receive confirmation that their membership has been ratified.
