In March 1999, ANAT, with the support of the AFC and the Australia Council, in association with Contemporary Arts Services Tasmania (CAST), presented me.dia te, a pioneering new skilling program for artsworkers and curators in Hobart, Tasmania.
Trained curators, technicians and theorists provided intensive training, during a two-week masterclass teaching environment that aimed to give curators both a technical and a theoretical understanding of new media art exhibition practices.
Evolving out of recognition that to nurture art that utilises technology, it was decided that there was a need to educate curators and arts workers.
