Thank you and congratulations :: ANAT Board transitions
As ANAT moves toward its 40th anniversary in 2028, the organisation enters a new chapter in its governance with gratitude and enthusiasm. Reflecting on a significant moment of transition, we acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of outgoing Board member Michèle Saint-Yves and warmly welcome Melita Grant as ANAT’s incoming Board Chair.
Living and working on Kaurna Country, Michèle brought to the ANAT Board a rare combination of artistic insight, strategic thinking and deeply embodied advocacy. A writer working across stage, screen and poetry, her practice spans performance, access and inclusion, neuroscience and social systems. During her time with ANAT, Michèle contributed generously to conversations shaping the organisation’s future, helping strengthen ANAT’s commitment to care, accessibility and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her broader career has included work in social capital development, organisational strategy and arts access consultancy, alongside her acclaimed creative practice, including the award-winning play Clock for no time.
Working alongside Michèle has been a genuine privilege. She holds a remarkable breadth as a writer, an access advocate, and a strategic thinker. Michele’s commitment to accessibility and interdisciplinary collaboration informed our strategic conversations; forming part of how we see ourselves. I wish her every good thing in what comes next. ANAT welcomes Melita Grant into the role of Board Chair. A Research Director at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney, Melita’s work spans social justice, sustainability, water management and international development across the Asia-Pacific region. With more than two decades of experience working across government, universities and civil society, she brings a deeply collaborative and systems-oriented approach to leadership. Her ongoing research exploring artistic connections with water management programs in the Pacific, alongside decolonising methodologies, strongly reflects the interdisciplinary and future-focused ethos at the heart of ANAT.
ANAT extends heartfelt thanks to Michèle for her insight, generosity and contribution, while looking ahead to the leadership and vision Melita will bring as Chair. Together, these transitions reflect ANAT’s ongoing commitment to fostering diverse voices, critical thinking and transformative collaboration across art, science and technology.
