Catherine Truman
“I’ve undertaken many residencies within science environments, interested in the nexus between artistic and scientific approaches to research and inquiry. My methods are founded on open conversations with scientists, thereby creating a discursive space in which both my own activities and those of scientists are equivalent creative acts.”
“These compelling relationships have endured and have been a fundamental influence.”
“My relationship with ANAT began in 2011 with a Synapse residency collaborating with Professor Ian Gibbins at the School of Medicine, Flinders University. I participated in Soapbox digital takeover in 2020 and presented Epithelium as part of Spectra, Multiplicity at the Science Gallery Melbourne, 2022. I was a featured artist in A Partnership for Uncertain Times in 2023.”
